Derby Rugby Football Club run seven senior sides and a very successful Minis & Juniors section consisting of over 300 players from Under 7s through to Under 17s. Celebrating last season as Champions of Midlands 1 East with a final day Victory against Spalding RFC.

Hinckley RFC have had a solid pre-season gaining some great credibility and results in beating higher ranked sides from the leagues above. They also squeezed a win away at Malvern which is never an easy feet, beating Bromsgrove RFC and Leicester Lions RFC on the runin to league campaign start up. Their preseason couldn't have gone much better.

There have been some comings and goings at Leicester Lions, Westleigh Park ground, however they maintain the majority of last years squad for the 2014/15 season. Ben Buxton formally of Nottingham joins as the Lions new Head Coach and will work with Jason Aldwinkle and Jon Boden as part of the coaching / management set up for this season. Shropshires premier rugby club Newport RFC is Based on the Shropshire / Staffordshire border surrounded by beautiful countryside and is the senior rugby club in the area. Newport Rugby Club were Promoted in season 2006 - 2007, this leaves them starting their sixth year at level 5. With a better infrastructure in place Newport Salop RFC hope that a challenge can be made for promotion to a higher level that would see Newport playing at National 2 for the very first time. Newport RFC finished 6th for the second season running and were runners up in the North Midlands Cup;

Local rivals Nuneaton RFC have recruited sensibly over the close season with a couple of new players from Bedworth RFC, most notable aquesition is Richard Moore, who returns to Nuneaton frm Leicester Lions RFC also having had spells at Market Bosworth RFC, Coventry RFC and Rugby Lions RFC along the way. Richard was injured for part of last season, however made 20 Starts for Leicester Lions in the season where they challenged for promotion in National 2 North.
