With no game scheduled for April 1st, Earlsdon kindly responded to a request to allow us to tag onto their fixture with Harbury.

With Earlsdon fielding 2 teams, Harbury and Street, so we managed to play 3 games of rugby.

First up we played Earlsdon, the game provided a tough challenge which the lads rose to. The lads defended gallantly, Earlsdon also defended stoutly but were unable to halt the fast Street attack with us scoring 6 tries winning the game comfortably 30-0.

The second game was also against Earlsdon (their other team), dare I say that the lads played champagne rugby. They defended well repelling the Earlsdon attack with some fine defence. Street took a 30-0 lead (which was well deserved), Earlsdon responded well with a couple of late tries and Street finally won the game 35-10.

Third up were the slightly bigger Harbury U9 team, the last time the teams met, was at the Keresley festival with a 10-10 result. Street continued on from the previous 2 games with some great attacking play, scoring some well worked tries. Harbury tried to keep up with the high tempo set by the Street attack, but they were unable to gain back the ground which was already lost. Street won the game 45-15!!

Jimmy McGeever who last week won most improved player, continues to impress winning coaches player of the week, well done Jimmy! He never fails to impress the coaching team with his reading of the game and all-round support play.

Max Robson won Coaches most improved player of the week with some fine defence and good offensive runs. Ben Tuckley was awarded 2nd most improved player, with some fine tackling and great dedication.

A big well done to Ben Irvine & Ryan Owen both scoring some superb tries

What another fine weekend for Broadstreet U9’s

The previous weekend of the 25th March saw Shipston U9 visit Broadstreet, a very close first game with no eventual winner a stalemate at 20-20. The second game started with Shipston taking an early 15-0 lead, but the lad’s responded well coming from behind scoring 8 unanswered tries, with some absolutely amazing rugby. A great win 40-15.

Liam Aspinall took the coaches praise for player of the week, with some fine tackling and scoring for his team.

Jimmy McGeever took the accolade for the most improved player.
