This final league game of the season turned into a one sided affair after 20 minutes with Warwickshire's Broadstreet RFC running out easy winners with spells of fast flowing and exciting rugby.

Although the final score may have been 62 this did not represent the first 15 minutes where Street applied all the pressure but were repelled by some excellent Hinckley defence and countless handling errors by the home side. Furthermore on 11 minutes Hinckley's William Keeling intercepted a long pass and was able to score under the posts unchallenged. He was able to convert his own try taking the score to 7-0 to the visitors from Leicestershire.

Street were dragged back into the game by man of the match Nick Thatcher whose sniping breaks and excellent vision put street back in Hinckleys 22. Number 8 Mark Challis was to score the first of streets 10 tries when he crossed the line after 21 minutes. Dan Richards adding the conversion 7-7. Thatcher then was to score the first of his 2 tries as he broke through the defence 3 minutes later. Richards again adding the conversion.14-7. Thatcher was to score again on 32 minutes as he cruised over the line. Richards added his third conversion. Street continued to build the pressure and on the stroke of half time Andy McGrory burst through to increase the score with Richards adding his fourth conversion of the afternoon.

Half Time 28 - 7

The second half started briskly and street were straight on the attack with a break down the right flank finished off by Richards in the corner after only 2 minutes. He was unable to convert his try. Street were on a roll now and with more and more pressure being put on the Hinckley defence it started to show signs of cracking. Streets next try scored by centre Lynsey Bishop who went over the line unopposed with two men outside him. Again Richards was unable to make the conversion from such a wide angle. Street were now firing on all cylinders and a superb try by James Hunt joining the line from the opposite side of the field after 48 minutes. Richards added the conversion. Hinckley battled well but were being stretched by Streets fast open approach to the game. Challis added his second try after 52 minutes and when Dan Phillips out paced two Hinckley defenders it was all but over.Richards managed to add one conversion. With 70 minutes on the clock captain Eddie Simkiss continued his scoring run by adding streets 10th try when he crashed over out wide on the right. Hinckley may have been down but they were not beaten they continued to battle and applied some late pressure to the street line but were unable to convert the pressure into points.
