After a much delayed RFU Appeals process due to the concerns of Bromsgrove who have been level transferred to National 3 South West, the National League 3 Midlands fixture list has finally been released. Broadstreet Rugby Football Club can therefore start its planning towards the 2016/17 League campaign.

With a total of 14 teams in the league, there are 26 fixtures for Street supporters to look forward to, as well as the prospect of entering the Warwickshire Cup an opportunity to play for some familiar silverware.

Last season’s Promotion and relegation means that there are six new sides in National 3 Midlands this season including Broadstreet following our relegation from National 2 North ,we join eight clubs that featured in NL3M last year – Birmingham and Solihull who are recruiting heavily with new Head of Rugby Peter Glackin tapping into his Coventry and Henley College connections , Lichfield, Longton, Nuneaton, Old Halesonians, Peterborough Lions, Sandbach and Syston – these 8 clubs are joined by Bedford Athletic (Champions from Midlands 1 East)  and Derby (runners up in Midlands 1 East and promoted after defeating Bournville in the playoff) Bridgnorth (Champions from Midlands 1 West), Sheffield (level transfered from National League 3 North after finishing in 6th place last season ) and Towcestrians (Champions from South West 1 East).

For Street, their campaign begins with an away trip to Sandbach on Saturday 3rd September, with their first home game of the season the following Saturday against Sheffield (10th September). Their furthest trip north will be up to Sandbach (3rd September) who just edge it at 80.8 miles against Sheffield in the last game before Christmas (17th December) at 80.3 miles , Streets southern-most away-day will be a trip to Champions Midlands 1 East Bedford Athletic
Street play 13 home games, with local derbies against Lichfield (5th November), Nuneaton (26th November), Birmingham and Solihull (21st January), and Old Halesonians (1st April) certainly standing out, with the last game of the season at home – against Sandbach– on 22nd April.

Street’s Head Coach Paul Hurst said, “Our pre-season training starts on Tuesday and, ahead of this, we have been preparing our sessions to ensure that the players get the biggest benefit. The wait for the fixtures has heightened the anticipation and the coaching team of Phil Evans, John Raby, Stewart Pearl and Myself can’t wait to get back amongst the squad.
