Trip to Spain to research possible Rugby Tour destinations is thwarted when one of the delegation fraternises with the Locals.

A high-powered deputation from Broadstreet RFC was recently despatched to Spain with the sole intention of discovering potential opponents and venues for upcoming Rugby Tours.  Experienced campaigners Paul Lydster, Chris 'Loper' Harrison, Kev Truslove, John Brown, Matty Stuart, and Elliot Blundell unselfishly gave up their leisure time to represent Broadstreet RFC for a long weekend in pursuit of this challenging assignment.  In order to make sure that any prospects were also suitable for the younger element in the club, rather than just for the Vets, Chris Dodd and Will Boyle were co-opted.

All was well on Friday with a seamless transition from a few welcome very early morning libations at East Midlands Airport to the smooth flight to Alicante.  The taxi to the hotel was spot-on and the check-in at the hotel went without a hitch.  As the contingent were giving-up their well-earned weekend for this noble task, it was decided to make the most of the remainder of Friday, before setting-out on the serious business of performing a recky for next year’s Rugby Tour.  A few beers here and few beers there were followed by the suggestion that having a couple of hours kip would be good preparation for conducting a survey of the local bars and night clubs, all in the name of serious research, you understand.  Only problem was, nobody set the alarm and the next thing anyone knew it was Saturday morning.

Never mind, our intrepid researchers had all day on Saturday to make discoveries and take notes on candidates for next year.  Unfortunately, very soon after emerging from his pit, Elliott Blundell - tour expert extraordinaire - was discovered to be missing.  Search parties scoured the local bars to no avail.  Twenty-four hours later Elliott was discovered fraternising with the locals.

You just can’t take him anywhere can you?  Unfortunately, with very little research data collected, the team will have to re-convene in a few weeks time.
